Jasper Bernes is author of The Work of Art in the Age of Deindustrialization (Stanford, 2017) as well as two books of poetry, We Are Nothing and So Can You (2015) and Starsdown (2007). He is a frequent contributor to the Field Notes section of The Brooklyn Rail. Formerly he was managing editor of the short-lived Commune Magazine and founding editor of the longer-lived though also deceased poetry publisher, Commune Editions. He lives in Oakland and teaches in the English Department at UC Berkeley. Verso Books will publish The Future of Revolution: Communist Prospects from the Paris Commune to the George Floyd Uprising in April of this year.
